Did you know…

The classic book called Gulliver's Travels borders on science fiction. It was written before science fiction was what you called such books. In this book Jonathan Swift wrote about two moons circling Mars. He described their size and speed of orbit. He did this one hundred years before they were described by astronomers.

I'm not entirely surprised. The 3rd Edition of the (Full) Oxford English Dictionary has been worked on for the past 21 years and is probably about a decade from completion. It may surprise you, but the full OED consists of 20 volumes – and may never be printed again.
