Rules
WE ARE CURRENTLY CLOSED TO NEW MEMBERS. OUR NEXT DEADLINE FOR APPLICATIONS TO THE GROUP IS JANUARY 15TH.
Like everyone else, we hate rules. But, to keep any group organized and fair to all - rules are a way of life.
We’ve tried to keep our rules as simple and easy to abide by as possible. So, we only have three rules…
- You must critique at least one chapter for each chapter you submit. While one critique is necessary to post your own chapter - it is only the bare minimum requirement. We do require at least one critique per week - regardless of whether or not you’ve posted a chapter of your own. (Your first month in the group, you will expected to post 2 critiques before posting your own work.)
Please also be aware we believe ALL critiques are to be constructive and not destructive. Critiques are monitored by the admins. We do not tolerate deliberate slamming of anyone or their work - posting a chapter for peer review is tough enough. Tough, honest and sometimes harsh crits can be expected, but insensitive critiques will not be tolerated.
Due to a recent event, it is now our policy that new members may NOT submit completed novellas or novels for beta reads until they have been a member in good standing for at least 4 months.
- Participation in our group discussions from time to time is MANDATORY. Please do not apply if you cannot meet this requirement. This group thrives on the passing of industry and craft knowledge to all of our members. This is not the group for you if you are ONLY looking for feedback on YOUR work. We tend to discuss character development, plots, and brainstorm for one another on a regular basis. In fact, our brainstorming sessions can sometimes get so involved, we consider them as meeting a critique requirement when done correctly. After one calendar month of silence - you will be deleted from the group.
- There is no flaming on this group. All messages on this board are private to this group - please do not forward them to another loop (or post them to your personal blog or website) without the original posters permission - all discussions are to be kept civil or your will be warned. Too many warnings and your membership will be revoked.
