Easing into the New Year
I'm here to open the discussion on the New Year. Let's be cliche, shall we? We can talk about goals. We can moan about weight loss [or gain]. With a raised glass, we'll kiss our loved one or even a perfect stranger.
But what I really want to know is…
What is going to be different this year? Will you stretch your creative genius? Will you start something new? Come on in and comment about the one project this year that will make you grow and force you beyond what you know.
*cough* I'm going to write a middle grade novel on the side. *blush* Think fantasy plus inspiration plus old-school Trixie Belden. I have only bones of an idea, but it's been nagging me for some time.
Wish me luck!

Writing, getting my butt and tummy in shape AND being more attentive to the family – in other words, setting some goals along with times and doing my best to stick to them.
I just loaded some "to-do" and scheduling type apps onto my iTouch for this very purpose. I need to get organized and unfortunately I seem to make the same resolutions every year!
Maybe this will be my year!

I did a goal list the other day and it was long. But I think for me, the main one will be getting my 2010 nano story into shape to send out. It was something completely different for me – a thriller – so I'm looking forward to the challenge (and I've been reading my How to Write a Breakthrough Novel Workbook over Christmas in preparation.)

There are so many projects I've got going on right now, plus promo. I will be thrilled just to put a few more things in submission.
Best of luck on the middle grade book, Penny!

Great goals ladies! I would love to think I'd be pushing my creative genius this year. Truly though, outside of the obvious needs to get more in shape and take care of myself, I am just trying to find my writing groove again. So watch out!
