Goals for 2009
Since many of my crit partners are discussing goals and 2009, I thought this a good time to jump in and add mine!
While I worked on my goals prior to Jan 1st, I just wasn’t ready to start them on that day.
Mondays, for me are good starting days. I get a full week in of starting a new routine or two.
I thought I’d post my goals here, so I can look back on them at the end of the year.
CAREER ROAD MAP
–Daily –
- Write 1000 words a day/4 pages.
- Revise 2 pages a day.
- Diet. 10 lbs a month, end of May reach goal.
- Exercise.
- Promo daily
- FlyLady
–Weekly –
- Update my goal on PC for accountability.
- Read one craft book a week.
- Blog weekly on my blog – Friday
- Blog weekly on Passionate Critters – Wednesdays
- Blog weekly on a Once Upon a Crime blog – Mondays
- Make menu for following week
I have a notebook that I like to keep a daily journal of what I’ve accomplished. What will you do to keep yourself accountable and stay on track to reach your goals?


Great goals, Valerie. I really want to get back into blogging more – I always felt like it was a great warm-up for my writing during the day. Making a menu for the week and making sure you get everything at that one trip to the store is a big time saver as well – and kinda takes the stress off the week! I think I should do that too.
1k words a day would be too much for me right now.

Work tends to stress me out and, like today, I sit there and I just yawn. Knowing I have to go back to work tomorrow (My 3 day week is now a 4 day week, which kinda cuts into the writing time
I get more money (HA! Not that much more) but the writing definitely suffers.
A diary is a great idea though, I write my previous day wordcount into mine.
Hmmm… I think I need to blog less, write more. LOL! I create a menu and then a shopping list, too. I like to plan two weeks ahead. (But I’m anal)

i like that weekly blogging, but might try to do twice a week on my own. I don’t want it to disappear, but the work is tedious when I’m trying to write. And I get stressed. I’m looking for less stress this year. I honestly haven’t figured out how to keep myself accountable. I’ve asked my hubby to help, but he doesn’t. Not really. What I’d love would be to exercise together. That’s my downfall. I’m a wonderful starter… I just suck at keeping up. He doesn’t see my desire/dilemma the same way. Grr. Why not?! Why won’t he just do it?! Do I have to beg?
